One of the best feelings in the world is to look at a photograph and wonder how it has perfectly captured that moment of your life! This is probably the simplest way I can put into words what Sukanya did for my engagement and wedding photography. As someone who is very nervous and uncomfortable when it comes to candid photography, I was apprehensive about my engagement and wedding photographs. But when I finally got to see them I was l awe struck by the sheer brilliance with which the photographs were clicked. Sukanya never asked me to pose, in fact I don’t even remember seeing her around the stage area much. She was always lurking behind the camera and clicking it when you would least expect it and this is why her photography churns out such radical and original shots. Being someone who shies away from the limelight and yet someone who sees the value in documenting memories, it has been rewarding for me to have Sukanya as that ‘close friend with a camera’. It felt like déjà vu when I first saw her! Sukanya made me feel the most comfortable I have ever been in a photoshoot. I don't even remember the "shoot" as much as I remember the uplifting conversation. She really listens and makes vulnerability easy and playful, allowing me to be my realest self. What makes her a cut above is her keen ability to notice who's standing alone and gently bring them to lean in, making the entire process so effortless. Her emotional intelligence and presence quotient is off the charts where she read my subtle body language and knew exactly what I needed to hear to feel secure. While she connected with me on a soul level, she was simultaneously mastering the technical, guided my posture and captured the most authentic version of me without ever making it feel forced. At one point during the session, I felt this irresistible urge to be silent and tears flowed as a result. I've never felt more seen and held. That kind of connection honestly does something to you. After our session, I slept like a baby - the kind of deep, heavy sleep you only get when you finally feel safe enough to actually let go which I hadn't experienced in a very long time. It felt like my entire nervous system just hit the reset button. You can't fully describe the enormous love and passion Sukanya brings to this work, it’s something you just have to experience firsthand. She stays with you above and beyond the session - long after the camera is put away. Don’t just take my word for it. All Adi and I wanted was to have some memories that felt like us and not uncomfortably posed. It's pretty tough to do that in front of a camera. But Sukanya made it very easy and comfortable, it didn't feel like somebody was setting us up to look good for a photo - it felt like someone was just taking a peek of what life already looked like.
