Being someone who shies away from the limelight and yet someone who sees the value in documenting memories, it has been rewarding for me to have Sukanya as that ‘close friend with a camera’. One of the best feelings in the world is to look at a photograph and wonder how it has perfectly captured that unspoken moment of your life!
This is probably the simplest way I can put into words what Sukanya did for my engagement and wedding photography.
As someone who is very nervous and uncomfortable when it comes to candid photography, I was apprehensive about my engagement and wedding photographs. But when I finally got to see them I was l awe struck by the sheer brilliance with which the photographs were clicked.
Sukanya never asked me to pose, in fact I don’t even remember seeing her around the stage area much. She was always lurking behind the camera and clicking it when you would least expect it and this is why her photography churns out such radical and original shots. I am beyond happy I could have someone like her click me on my special day. As a bride there is enough pressure on you, but Sukanya just puts you at immediate ease and there is one less thing you need to be worried about.

As a fitness trainer, I am usually the one holding the container. Yet, with Sukanya I felt the kind of safety you only find with an old friend, a feeling I have never experienced in a photoshoot. She gave me the complete freedom to show up without the pressure of 'having it all together'. Beyond the personal healing, her powerful branding & visionary portraits have aligned me with my dream clients and opened new doors. I now approach life and every person through a lens of devotion, with a newfound trust in its unfolding — simply because she helped me taste that possibility for myself. Her parting words - "Julia, everything is a win if the goal is to experience" ring in my heart daily.
Even three years later, Sukanya’s photographs still speak to me. I hadn’t given myself this chance of being seen in the way she does and I really pray that everybody gets to experience this loving gaze of hers firsthand. Anyone can get away with taking your photos but it takes a Sukanya to see your deepest self and not just what you look like while remaining deeply invested & engaged in you above and beyond the session, and that my friend, is rare.
She is the best and I can't recommend her enough.
